This is an example on how to encrypt files with GML. That's useful if you use external files to keep information the user should't be able to read or alter. If you want to use a file to store the score of the player, this player could easily increase his highscore by opening this file and modifying it. If you encrypt it, this is impossible.

Hmm, numbers? I'll check that out. I could understand it if some special characters were not compatible, but it should be compatible with all ASCII characters. Most examples on this site are pretty old, though, I don't know if I thought about the use of special characters in this example.
It fails to encrypt/decrypt numbers as well as several alphanumerical characters like _ * etc.

But otherwise good and userfriendly.
